have recently done a course on 4×4 advanced training and recovery ,.which I am happy to say I passed! One of the things you learn in recovery is after you have attaches the cable to the vehicle you are about to recover and you now have taken up the slack by activating the winch the cable becomes very tight and they now explain that its now “LIVE” in other words you are not allowed to walk over it and you have to keep the distance of the length of the cable away, in this case it was thirty metres long so you had to keep thirty metres away. The reason ? if it snapped it would take your head off, that’s why they call it the “Killing Zone”.
And this got me thinking how our environments is affected by society that constantly must make rules for us to do the right things.
Think about it………all our attitudes ,thought processes, responses and value systems are formed by its influences, you have formed attitudes and response patterns and have had to come to terms with anger, rejection, and resentment .
That’s why God calls you out of this world. “ you are in this world but not part of it “ ( 1 Jn. 5:4).
Do you remember when you first gave your life to the Lord? That beautiful “After Glow” and its influenced to get rid of the things in your life that were offensive and how delighted with the changes it inspired you to make. YOUR LIFE WAS FILLED WITH JOY!
BUT as time went by a problem arose, the glow started to fade , let me put it this way, you live at the coast and from your patio window the view is awesome , and every morning the first this you do is rush over to the patio to take in this wonderful view, however after a time you kind of take it for granted , it’s still there just as beautiful as ever hasn’t changed a bit , BUT YOU HAVE!
So now you begin to look for remedies to solve this problem WHY?…………………………. because you mind is /was conditioned by your world you begin the search through resources familiar to you, the wire has now become “LIVE” AND SO YOU LOOK FOR RULES TO APPLY dont walk over it , keep your distance , so now you have two forms of life moving in different directions you want rules and strategies to solve your problems while the “ Treasure “yearns for liberty and begins to starve, and YOU experience the painful regression that many describe as “ losing your first love”. Rom. 8:7 puts it like this: the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN BE.
