This is to do with our HEAVELY STATUS not our EARTHLY STATE! “ Justification by Faith” and is a very important Doctrine little understood by many. This is but a small step to help you on your way in your Spiritual walk.
This will also help you with Eternal Security —–that “all” those who have been born again are eternally secure, but that “only” those who are born again are eternally secure.
STATUS = something fixed, eternal.
STATE= daily experience.
STATUS = Justification .
STATE= Sanctification.
1) THE NEED FOR RIGHTEOUNESS.
Obviously this does not mean I now have a licence to live as I please , BUT will help us understand the life that pleases our Lord, and the need for Righteousness which is described in two ways, (A) The characteristic of God and (B) is that which God imparts to man, bring him into a state of righteousness .
Important to understand that justification is ONE of three elements in Righteousness , and because we possibly don’t understand I will illustrate simply how it works ,so here goes:
MANS DILEMMA . GODS ANSWER
Unrighteousness Righteousness
Debt. Past (Penalty). Justification.
Disease. Present (Power). Sanctification.
Departure . Future ( Presence ). Glorification.
2.) THE NEED FOR JUSTIFICATION.
Man’s own endeavours cannot get right with God( Isa. 64 : 6 ) For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment, And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like wind, take us away. The penalty for breaking God’s law, physical and spiritual death, no way out, criminal guilty (Death) or he can confess , he’s still guilty (Death ).
3.) THE PROVISION FOR JUSTIFICATION.
God provided in Christ 2 Cor. 5 : 21 ; Gal. 3 10 : 14 BUT Derek how can God love and punish in one stroke ? Well the answer is in the cross of Christ Ps. 85 : 10 this is Awesome ! Loving kindness and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. WOW!
The criminal is still at the bar, BUT he does not have to die, he can go free if he acknowledges his guilt, the provision of Justification . Just-if-there-was-no-sin. If that does not knock your socks off nothing will1
4.) THE RESULTS OF JUSTIFICATION.
Let’s look at it this way: The results of Justification , NOW the Judge sees Jesus in my place and ME in Jesus. ( I must confess I have just taken a break as the anointing is so strong here at the moment I can’t type.)
NOW the criminal CAN FACE THE Judge and come to the throne confidently Heb. 4: 15 & 16. Eph. 1 : 6.
JUSTIFICATION ;
A source is God Rom. 8 : 33
Ground is blood. Rom. 3 :25
Faith is the means Rom. 5 : 1
Spring is Grace Rom. 3 : 24
Proof is resurrection Rom 4 : 25
Works is the fruit James 2 : 21
Justification saves us from the past and secures the future Rom 8 : 33-39
Faith is the acceptance of what God has done and the recognition what I cannot do.
